I agree, marauders should be the best in missioning ultimately, at the time this is the machariel
Marauders need more damage, every faction battleship (except rattlesnake) has a damage bonus that makes it do more damage than any marauder
Marauders are far too hard to skillfor their use, making them even more unwanted
The only real advantage from a marauder against faction battleships is that they probably have the superior tank, yay...
seriously, just like interceptors are slower than normal faction frigs, marauders should be better than faction battleships for missions in order to give people something for their time training it |

There are way better ships for running missions faster and more efficinet than marauders
This would be as god as a faction ship requiring no training but having the same mining amount as an Exhumer
I would start crying if i ever trained marauder, just to see a pilot in a machariel doing missions way faster and requiring much less skill and almost the same amount of money
Marauders need fixes to kill npcs faster, or at the very least bigger salvaging bonuses (adding maybe salvaging success probability and more tractor beam range)
Ships specialized in a way like marauders cant have more versatile ships beating them in every possbible way there is |

npc ewar immunity would be the easiest way and would not overpower them in pvp, also against serpentis or guristas maybe even sansha it is VERY effective, against other pirates not at all sadly
i'd go with a range boost plus the npc ewar immunity, but even if its only the npc ewar immunity, i may go ahead and skill for marauder |

yeah, adressing sansha i meant getting tracking disrupted, the most uneffective ewar seems to be TPing, but neuts are very rare to encounter nullifying scramblers almost seems OP, but would make marauders actually be able to fit less tank and more damage since they can get out at any time
the only thing that needs to be made clear (also for any dev maybe reading this thread) is that marauders are far from being the best in their role, and are outperformed by ships far more easy to skill and even cheaper
there has to be a fix that makes marauders run missions faster |

no damage from npc's would not help marauders that big, its about running missions FAST, not being able to just sit there and watch them
with removing npc ewar, marauders would be able to apply much higher damage to npcs using jammers/neuts/tracking disruptors/sensor dampeners
also, ccp would have to take into consideration that concord is also npc, and sansha incursions is more like pvp than lvl 4s, so limiting the ewar invulnerability to normal belt/mission/complex pirates would be a good thing to do |

Marauders need a fix, thats for sure, they are just not to compare with a machariel or other faction BS if you want to make missions FAST and not sit in them forever and ever
investing so much skill time just to be outperformed by a faction BS that is cheaper AND better? kind of pointless flying a marauder then
and why not make T2 BS that good at pvp? did i miss something? its always risk vs reward and money vs strength
the only two things that would be good for marauders are either
1) EWAR immunity (maybe only for npcs, but why not for pvp also? would actually make them interesting, and there are allready ships with ewar immunity in eve)
2)more damage give them more damage to fulfill there "role" (yes, missioning is the role of a marauder at the time, just look at the goddamn boni) and be able to outperform a machariel
this is the same problem as with the dramiel vs. any other interceptor in eve, dramiel wins because it can be faster AND harder hitting, negating the skilltime for an interceptor and not going dramiel at the very beginning |

specific ewar immunity sounds extremely bad everyone would just get the paladin or kronos, since dampening/ecm are the worst of all, either the full package or none, still, even with tracking enhancers or range bonuses (i dont really get why 65km torp range on the golem is that bad) , marauders would still be outperformed by machariel etc.
more damage, in any way possible, marauders would still be pretty useless in PvP because of the damn low sensor strength and would actually be worth to skill for
that is the biggest issue with marauders: giving you not enough for a skill time thats incredibly hgh, and if you dont want to fly blackops, pretty useless otherwise
though kronos and paladin will probably need some sort of range bonus, also the ultimative mission ship for gallente without the ability to fit 5 heavy and 5 small drones at once? lol... |
